An independent e-bike comparison site for Australia. We sell no bikes, hold no stock, and have no brand partnerships.
Who publishes this
eBike Verdict is a small editorial operation rather than a single named reviewer. Content is researched and written by the eBike Verdict team, drawing on manufacturer specifications, Australian retailer listings and the road rules published by each state's transport authority, cross-checked before publication.
We are not going to invent a masthead of expert bylines to look bigger than we are. When we have named reviewers with credentials worth publishing, they will appear here with their names on their work.
What our reviews are based on
Every guide and review on this site is research-based. We compare published specifications, verify Australian availability and warranty support, and assess road-legal status against the 250W and 25 km/h rules.
We have not ridden these bikes. We do not publish measured range figures, timed climbs or braking distances, and we do not use the word "tested" for work that was done at a desk. Where we cannot verify something — a price our own sources disagree on, a weight a manufacturer does not publish — we say so on the page instead of filling the gap.
What we assess
- Verifiable specifications — motor rating, battery capacity in watt-hours, weight and claimed range, each attributed to the manufacturer or retailer that published it.
- Price in AUD, with a date — taken from Australian retailer listings, shown with the date we checked it, because a price without a date is not information.
- Road-legal compliance — checked against the rules in each state, including where those rules differ and where they are about to change.
- Whether you can actually buy it — an Australian seller, a warranty someone local honours, and parts availability. This is where a surprising number of popular models fall down.
How we make money
We intend to fund the site through affiliate commissions. As of today no affiliate or commission relationship with any retailer is in place, so every retailer link here is editorial rather than paid. When that changes, the links will be marked, each page will carry a disclosure, and the partners will be named.
